Ep 12: Pumpkin & Spicy Sausage Soup & Low Carb Slurpees w Paige Turner

HAPPY HALLOWEEN KIKI KIDS!!

This week I’m DOM TOP MICKEY and I’m serrrving up a SPOOKTACULAR helping of low-carb realness with my spicy sausage & pumpkin soup AND a low-carb slurpee!!

DOUBLE YUM!!

And who better to help me cook, dish and slurp other than Slurpin Showbiz Spitfire Paige Turner herself.

We got real wet with these liquid concoctions and even dragged out some pumpkins! Who needs to carve anymore? Pumpkins need drag makeovers too!

Paige’s pumpkin was the clear winner so I admitted defeat. My the biggest winner of all that day was my soup! YUM YUM YUM!!

If you’d like to make these at home just follow the simple instructions below. SLURP!

For Soup, You will need:

1 lb spicy italian sausage

1 cup of white onion, diced

3 cloves of garlic, chopped

4 cups low sodium chicken broth

1 15 oz can of canned pumpkin

1/2 cup of heavy cream

1T Olive Oil

Salt & Pepper to taste

To Make Soup: 

1. In a large soup pot heat the olive oil

2. Add onions, sausage and garlic and cook until browned, about 5 minutes

3. Drain fat

4. Add chicken stock, canned pumpkin, cream and salt & pepper

5. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes

To Make Slurpees, You will need: 

2 packets of your favorite Crystal Light, frozen into 2 ice cub trays (I used raspberry lemonade)

5-6 Strawberries

1 lemon

2-3 Cups unsweetened coconut milk

3 packets of stevia sweetener

To Make Slurpees:

1. Combine coconut milk, strawberries, juice of lemon and stevia in blender

2. Slowly add frozen Crystal Light ice cubes until desired consistency.

3. HAVE  A KIKI!

Ep 11: Chicken A La Queen w Phi Phi O’Hara (18.2g Carbs)

Hi Again Kiki Kids!!

Everyone know what season it is? It’s RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race Season!! WOO HOO!! 12 queens will enter! 1 will win!! In honor of this festive event I’ve decided to let you all have it with an All Star dish I’ve dreamt up – My Chicken A La Queen Salad!!

What makes this salad so queeny kids is protein packed, fiber rich QUINOA!! Quinoa is so yummy as it’s lower in carbs than traditional pasta so it’s good for us too.

And what better queen to have over other than All Star Phi Phi O’Hara herself!!!??

Ok ok ok so maybe she’s NOT an All Star but she is in my book! She was an All Star help in the kitchen and a good sport about not making it on this special season of RuPaul’s hit show! She really could “Sautee´Away” and “Mixed This Salad For Her Life”.

Watch us cook, & dish on the new season and all of your favorite queens! And NO She’s not bitter at all!

She even surprised me with an ALL STAR MAKEOVER! It was the least she could do after I madeover a salad for  her! How sweet PhiPhi!

You Will Need:

1 cup dry quinoa

2 cups low sodium chicken stock

1Lb Chicken

1/3C Olive Oil

1/3C Balsamic Vinegar

2T Apple Cider Vinegar

3T Honey

5 cloves of garlic

2 Lemons

Salt & Pepper

1/2 Red Pepper, Diced

1/2 Orange Pepper, Diced

1/2 Yellow Squash, Cut into round halves

1/2 Green Zucchini, Cut into round halves

8oz Crumbled Blue Cheese

2T Purple Onion, diced and marinaded in 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar

To Make Salad:

1. Mix Oil, Vinegars, Honey, Garlic, Lemons, Salt & Pepper to make marinade

2. Dice chicken up into pieces and place in marinade

3. Chill for at least 2 hours

4. Heat quinoa and chicken stock in a pot until a rolling boil

5. Lower heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes until done

6. Transfer to Bowl and Add all veggies

7. Sautee marinaded chicken over medium heat until cooked through, about 4-5 minutes

8. Transfer chicken to bowl and toss salad with tongs

9. Add juice of one lemon to salad and salt and pepper to taste

10. Crumble Blue Cheese on top when serrrrrving.

11. Have a kiki w the queens and enjoy.

Great served hot OR cold!

Ep 10: Chocolate Sexed Strawberries w Jason Hellinger (2g carbs)

Hey Kiki Kids! What’s shakin?!

I hope youre all feeling sexy this week because I sure am! So sexy that I’m fixing up a seductive low-carb treat that’s perfect for the hot and bothered: Chocolate Covered Strawberries! – Or Chocolate SEXED Strawberries as I like to call this treat.

These strawberries are dripping in chocolatey goodness and I even threw some protein into the mix to keep you revved up and going for hours and hours. I topped them off with a creamy stevia glaze. Who knew low-carb, low-sugar could be so sexy?

Speaking of sexy, NYC party promoter Jason Hellinger stopped by the kitchen all sexed up and cruising for a Chocolate Sex Party.  I had to break the news to him that the only chocolate in my kitchen was going on the strawberries.

He found a way to satisfy his sex craving tho and got a creamy facial of sweet no-sugar glaze.  Wow, she really was sexed up!!

And of course he had to put a plug in for his new saturday night S.E.X party at G Lounge NYC. Definitely stop by kids, if youre looking for a sexy time! G is at 225 west 19th street in Chelsea.

If you want to make these at home its really simple too!

You Will Need:

20 strawberries

3oz of Simply Lite Low-Carb Dark Chocolate

1 Scoop of Zero Carb Chocolate Protein Powder

Heavy Cream

3T Stevia

To Make Chocolate Sexed Strawberries:

1. Boil water in a saucepan filled up half way

2. Set glass bowl in pot to create double boiler

3. Break Chocolate up and melt in bowl with whisk

4. When combined, drizzle in about 3T of heavy cream

5. Add Protein powder and a little more heavy cream and whisk until creamy and combined

6. Remove from stove and dip strawberries in immediately and transfer to a wax paper lined tray

7. Refrigerate for 1 hour or freeze for 30 minutes

8. Put 3T stevia in small bowl and whisk in heavy cream until you get a creamy glaze, thick enough to coat but not too watery

9. When strawberries are set drizzle glaze on top decoratively

10. Chill for another 20 minutes and enjoy!
